The world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, Binance has announced plans to pause deposits and withdrawals of Ether (ETH) and wrapped Ether (wETH) on some networks as the crypto community approaches the merge.

As per the announcement, Binance disclosed a list of networks and tokens that will be affected while the merge event is ongoing, they include ETH (Arbitrum), ETH (OP) and WETH (RON).
According to Binance, every deposit of Ether as well as Wrapped Ether on these networks during the period of the suspension will not be credited and users involved will not be eligible to receive any “forked token credit in the event of a chain split.”
In the announcement, transactions on the networks mentioned will not be available until the merge is complete, this move is due to Binance wanting to “secure the allocation of forked tokens in the case of a chain split.”
Users will however be notified when the transactions resume.
