While others are trying to distance themselves from crypto over SEC crypto scrutiny, MasterCard is teaming up with crypto firms to seek expansion in its crypto services. 

In a bid to continue its push into the crypto space, MasterCard has announced a new partnership with crypto firms to launch a crypto card program, as per a Reuters report on Friday.

“We have dozens of partners around the world who offer crypto card programmes, and they continue to expand,” Raj Dhamodharan, Mastercard’s head of crypto and blockchain, told Reuters on Thursday.

“Providing access to crypto in a safe way is also part of our value proposition, and we’re continuing to do that,” Dhamodharan

In the past, there have been several partnerships between MasterCard and crypto firms; in February this year, it partnered with Immersve to launch a crypto payment system in Web 3.

Also, very early in 2023, Binance and MasterCard unveiled a Bitcoin reward card in Brazil, the same month, it teamed up with Polygon for a Web 3 accelerator program.

Other crypto firms that have partnered with MasterCard in the past are Bakkt Holdings, Nexo, and Gemini amongst others.
