Microsoft is currently making some moves to reduce the popularity gap between its competitors like Apple’s Safari and Google Chrome by leveraging the popularity of cryptocurrency among the world population to attract users.

As per a recent tweet by a Twitter user, Microsoft is reportedly looking to integrate crypto and NFT-friendly web 3 wallet into its Edge browser.

The update was shared on Twitter by Albacore, a software documenter, and occasional info leaker, in his thread, he shared a series of screenshots that reveal the user interface of the early stages of the new feature.

“Newest in the gauntlet of questionable upcoming Microsoft Edge features, a crypto wallet not really sure how to feel about this kind of thing being baked into the default browser,” Albacore pessimistically wrote in the tweet.

In the screenshots, Microsoft seemingly implored users to test its first web3 wallet and provide reviews as time passes, adding that the project is currently confidential.

Should the reports come to be true, the wallet will be noncustodial with users having full control of the wallet coupled with security features that will protect the wallet against malicious applications or addresses.

The screenshots also showed that users will be able to purchase, swap, and sell crypto assets from the web 3 infrastructure firm MoonPay and the crypto exchange Coinbase, both of which have been said to be integrated into the platform.

In terms of NFTs, one of the UI simply states: “browse different marketplaces to find your first NFT, as you build your collection of NFTs, we’ll organize them here.”
